Thanks for dropping by at Israel Unique!

Michael & Annie NissimIsrael Unique is a small family business operating from our home in Haifa, Israel. We (Michael and Annie) attend the local congregation, Bethesda Assembly. Both of us believe in the Lord Jesus the Messiah and Michael is an Israeli born Jewish believer.

Michael works part time in a Christian senior citizens' home in Haifa called "Ebenezer Home" doing office work, while Annie runs the home and helps operate the business. Annie studied Hebrew in England before the Lord brought her to Israel.

View from our home in HaifaOur desire is that all items available from Israel Unique will be good quality items for believers abroad who love Israel. The books we stock from Keren Ahvah Meshihit (Christian Brotherhood Fund) are all written by Jewish believers of previous centuries who bore a deep love for Christ and for His nation Israel. These books are also printed in Israel by Jewish believers.

Any gifts and music are carefully selected on the basis that they are good quality, enjoyable (especially if it's music), glorifying to God, edifying to the believers and unique to Israel. We do our best to provide an informative description of each item so that customers know exactly what they are buying.

We do not stock Judaica. There are plenty of Judaica shops on the internet where you can buy mezuzas, tefilins, kippas and whatever else you may be looking for. However, our opinion is that it is not edifying, and is even dangerous to the believer to get swallowed up with Judaistic elements and be swayed from the centrality of Christ and His cross (Gal 3:1, 5:1) "For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified." (1 Cor 2:2) It does not surprise us that some of the so-called believers who sell Judaica from Israel deny the deity of our Lord Yeshua.

To find out what we believe, please read our statement of faith as set out below.

We believe:

  • The Holy Scriptures (the Bible, the Word of God) are the only and final authority for the believer.
  • We believe in the literal account of creation as described in the Word of God.
  • God, Jehovah, is one and exists in three divine persons: the Father, the Son, Who is Jesus the Messiah, and the Holy Spirit of God.
  • Every person is a sinner and needs to repent and be born again of God in order to enjoy God's love and fellowship eternally.
  • Jesus the Messiah was born of a virgin and died on the cross for the sins of the whole world. He was buried and rose again on the third day.
  • "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Rom 10:9). Those who do not believe in the Lord Jesus will suffer eternally in the lake of fire.

The points mentioned above we believe to be most essential and define you as a believer.

We also believe:

  • Once you are saved you cannot lose your salvation.
  • For 1,000 years Christ will reign on earth from Zion.
  • Believers should be baptised by immersion in obedience to God's Word.

Although we believe the last three points mentioned above are of crucial importance to the believer's understanding of God and the Bible, we do not regard them as essential for salvation, and we acknowledge that through the ages there were and still are many dear brethren who think otherwise on these last points.

Is Psalm 69 Messianic?

Psalm 69 is quoted in the New Testament as speaking of the Messiah, yet there is confession of failure in the Psalm. How can this be? Do we take this Psalm to be Messianic or simply about King David?
