Food and Eastern Restaurants

Ordering in an Eastern Restaurant

If you go to a real Eastern Restaurant, always order for fewer people than you have - you can always order more!

Our Recommendations:

  • Tabule (pronounced 'ta-boo-lee') is an Israeli salad that is made chiefly of parsley with lemon and cracked wheat, sometimes with a little mint, tomato and cucumber.
  • Hummus is a lovely spread of crushed chick peas, made fresh daily in these restaurants.
  • Hummus with 'Ful'. Ful is a type of cooked bean - delicious!
  • Kebab is a bit like meat balls, mixed with parsley.
  • Sahleb is a sweet firm jelly made from the root of a plant - order it with or without rose water at the Allenby Restaurant in Haifa and in other places.
  • Meshausha is a very tasty mix of chick pea beans, garlic, lemon and tehina (a sesame paste).
  • Mahluta is the same as Meshausha with the addition of ful beans.

  • Did you know that Jesus is called 'The True God and Eternal Life'?

'The True God and Eternal Life' is one of Jesus' titles in Scripture. But some have attempted to attack that wonderful truth. Read a detailed defence of it right here.
