Halelu!
Let me introduce you to one of the best CDs to come from Israel in the Messianic Music genre, Zipporah Bennett's "Halelu"!
Halelu is a collection of Hebrew/English worship songs based almost entirely on the Psalms, most of them being direct quotations from the Hebrew.
The music on this album is lively and inspiring. The style is phenomenally Middle-Eastern, Mediterranean and Israeli. The arrangements are enjoyable and interesting, especially the inclusion of the accordion and the xylophone on "Gadlu" (Magnify) and the tasteful use of the Arab Darbukkah drum on "Adonai Yagen Ba'adi" (The Lord is Covering Me). Halelu also has wonderful choir arrangements and background vocals. Some songs are more lively while others are songs of prayer, as David's pleading in "Itotai" - "All my times are in Your hands, Lord - deliver me!". A number of these songs are alone worth buying the CD for, such as Gadlu, Mi-Ya'ale ("Who shall ascend"), Itotai and Harpu ("Be still").
If you enjoyed the Zamru Lo CD, there are good chances of your enjoying Halelu; and if you like Messianic music, you've got state-of-the-art authentic Messianic music right here! Recorded at Jerusalem Recording Studious, Israel.
All songs are skillfully translated and sung beautifully in both Hebrew and English. Inlay includes Hebrew and English texts, Translation and transliteration. And the songs are easy to learn too!
Total Run Time: Approx 58:30 minutes on 10 songs.
