ONLY YOU

A cry of the Father’s love for Israel, of the Bridegroom’s love for His bride, and a song of the child of God who seeks Him during trials. These are the voices that weave through the words and melodies of Swiss-Israeli believer Gabriela Danieli on her CD, "Only You". Recorded in Israel with local Israeli Messianic musicians, this collection of mostly slow, but rhythmic songs in both Hebrew and English are filled with the longing of God for His people. Not many singers could take a text like Jeremiah 8:21-22 and make the prophet’s pain her own, as Gabriela does in the powerful "Mi Yiten." On the other side of the coin, songs like the title track, "Only You" are full of the believer’s desire to know more of God and His salvation. Then, on "You are My Light" she declares that her help is "the Messiah, the Son of God". With her open, emotive vocals, Gabriela has a gift for entering into the passion woven into the Scriptures and bringing the listener right in there with her.

All but three songs in this collection were composed by Gabriela (including one with an assist from her husband, Rami), and the majority are based on Scripture, such as Song of Songs ("My Beloved is Mine, and I am His"), Psalm 139 ("Where Can I Go?"), and Isaiah 40 ("Have You Not Known"). Gabriela’s music draws on classical, jazz, and traditional Jewish influences, making use of strings, guitar, drums, keyboards, and even clarinet. Gabriela’s singing – especially on the many ballads – is dramatic and heartfelt, her voice soaring and shimmering, whether recorded alone or with the perfectly matched harmonies of David Loden, who produced "Only You". The quality of the arrangements and vocalisations is very high – Gabriela has the pipes to match her passion.

"Only You" expresses the romance between God and His people. Listen, and remember how deep His love extends.
